Biography

While studying in the Master of Arts in Teaching program at Webster University, I taught developmental writing courses for Saint Louis Community College.  Upon completion of the MAT degree (with an emphasis in Teaching Writing and Adult Literacy), I moved to teaching English Composition 101.  I have worked as an Adjunct Faculty member at Saint Louis Community College, Southwestern Illinois College, St. Charles Community College and the University of Missouri- St. Louis (the Pierre Laclede Honors College). In 2007, I completed a second masters degree in Educational Technology, and in 2009, I developed the first online English Composition 102 course for Saint Louis Community College’s Wildwood campus.  I taught English Composition 102 online 6 times a year for 5 years.  In total, I have taught composition for 11 years. My background includes 7 years as an Instructional Designer, including 6 years in higher education.  I have presented my design work at local, regional and international conferences.  My research interests include designing curricula for the 1st and 2nd year composition courses and integration of technology into writing curricula.
